About Christine

Based in the picturesque wine region of Pokolbin, in the Hunter Valley of New South Wales, Christine Munce is an Australian artist whose work delves deeply into the beauty of impermanence and the inevitable transience of what is discarded by both nature and man. Through her practice, she invites viewers to engage with new narratives formed from the familiar, the forgotten, and the disposed — finding contradictions and unexpected beauty within them.

Drawing on her formal training and extensive experience in the Visual Arts, Christine brings a sensitive and thoughtful approach to her creative process. Ever observant, she carries a camera wherever she goes, capturing the overlooked and the ordinary — fragments of everyday life left behind on paths, the ground, and within her surroundings.

Her art spans across a range of mediums, including pen, watercolours, acrylic paint, and at times, collage. With each piece, Christine challenges her audience to look more closely, to uncover the extraordinary hidden within the ordinary, and to reconsider what is often dismissed or unseen.
